Come join us for a presentation and discussion with a representative from the Eastside affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI is our nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Mental illness is not a weakness. It is biological in nature. Currently, one out of five people live with some form of mental illness. Who do you know or love who struggles with depression? Anxiety? Addiction? These are only three of the many types of mental illness that significantly affect our family and friends.
Our speaker is part of NAMI’s FaithNet, which strives to encourage welcoming, caring congregations as well as to promote the vital role spirituality in the recovery journeys of many who live with mental health conditions. It encourages the exchange of information, tools and other resources which will help educate and inspire faith communities about mental illness and the vital role spirituality plays in recovery for many.
Come with your questions and learn about resources, classes, outreach to teens, support groups, etc.
