City of Kirkland Anti-Idling Campaign

The City of Kirkland, as part of its Sustainability Master Plan, is encouraging drivers to turn their engines off if waiting more than 10  seconds to pick up someone or something. It takes less fuel to restart than 10 seconds of idling and is actually better for your engine than burning partially combusted fuel. It saves money (estimates are that Americans spend $11M every day idling), and it’s unquestionably better for the environment (less pollution, less fossil fuel consumption). Find more info at https://iturnitoff.com/#/savings, and see this PDF on the city web site.
